Does the trick! October 8, 2008 K. Sarni (Los Angeles, CA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Considering it's no longer really ideal to go back to the old school mix tapes for your radio recording pleasures, this really does the trick. I've had no problems with my FM recording (don't need AM) and the software has worked perfectly. I did have a problem with the preset recording ONCE, but that was due to my computer's error, not the software, and not the shark. The RadioShark was actually recommended to me by a local radio DJ after I asked how I can get copies of his mixes since they're not offered on PodCasts. Now I can have the mixes I want whenever I want them. Best thing EVER!
Shaky start January 10, 2010 Larry (St. Louis, MO. USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read about this item on-line while researching podcasts. I wanted to record my favorite local programs and listen when I had time. This allows you to listen to am and fm radio on your computer with a delay built in. You can pause or rewind while you listen. I have setup two different recording times and it does exactly what I asked of it. I titled this "Shaky start" because the first Shark2 I got from Amazon.com did not work. I contacted Griffin Technologies about a possible fix and they e-mailed me directions on how to destroy the one I had, send them a photo of the destroyed one, and they sent me a new one right away. I couldn't be happier with Griffin! The replacement worked as advertised right out of the box. I have been using their products for years and this experience will keep me coming back. One note,,,, you cannot listen to or record on-line streaming or HD radio with this device. It comes with a USB extender cable and an fm range extender. I highly reccommend this product.
Radioshark exceeds expectation January 23, 2009 Michael L. Atkinson (Casper, WY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've wanted a product like this for a long time. I carefully studied many of the reviews posted all over the internet and there were a few complaints regarding the devices ability to receive stations. I decided that since the price was so low (about 40.00 bucks) I went ahead and ordered one up. After plugging the device into my computer I noticed straightaway that it performed quite well. Some of the complaints were that even in large cities with many powerful radio stations the radioshark would hardly pickup an AM station. I live in a smaller town of less than 100,000 and the reception was great. I can tune in all the local stations and even some distant ones. For me it works very well, the software is simple to use and I can easily drag a radio show into my MP3 player and drop it in and listen at a later time.
I think the radioshark is a sweet device for night workers like myself that sleep during the day and miss programs that I like and I can record them and basically forget it until I am ready to put the show on my MP3 player and take it to work and listen at my choosing.
Awesome...makes my day! May 23, 2009 Ken from Phoenix (Phoenix) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've only had the `Shark' for a few hours but already I consider it to be one of the best, inexpensive, investments I've ever made.
I listen to a variety of financial radio shows through out the day, but I work for a living. Often I'll be listening to a show, they'll start talking about a topic I'm really interested in and the phone rings! Well, work comes first so I miss the entire segment....it'll be nice to know I have my computer at home recording the whole show so I can always go back to it. Better yet, I'm considering getting another one for work...if I'm listening to a show and I get interrupted I can simply pause it...kind of like TiVo (and you can fast forward through the commercials).
I almost didn't buy this, based on some of the negative comments about reception...I get better reception with this than I do on the radio I have at work...and I have control!
If you listen to talk radio, give it a try; the first time you're able to go back to a program and listen to it, you'll consider the Shark worth every penny!
USB Radio November 21, 2007 JayKK (KCMO) This product worked great out of the box after its initial driver updates off the web. It is especially useful in small areas where you want quality sounding radio without the need for additional electronic gear.
The better your computer speakers, the better your sound quality.
We really enjoy the RadioShark2!
